I am due to take my second driving theory test soon.

I think the reason i failed the last time was because i panicked and got really stressed out.

Does anyone have any good tips for relaxing myself before the test & while taking the test?

Thank you Gill…

Hi Gill,

Here are a few tips that I hope will help you

Relax - take deep breaths and try and relax your whole body and muscles.  Being too tense will make you feel more on edge.
Study in plenty of time - Last minute studying is stressful for even the most laid back of us.  Take your time to know the highway code and the practice questions.
Be confident in yourself - If you’ve studied, have confidence in yourself that you know it.  Don’t start second guessing yourself at the last minute or the panic will set in again.  If you’ve taken your time to know the material then stay relaxed and stay confident.
Prepare your nerves - Being at a test centre taking a test can be daunting, so practice being in a daunting position beforehand.  Ask friends or family to test you verbally on aspects of the highway code so you become more confident when a random question is thrown your way.
Don’t over think the situation - Thinking too much about how hard the test may or may not be is not helpful to anyone.  The test questions are out of your control.  Worrying about them beforehand will not change anything, it will only stress you out.  Concentrate on the things that are in your control, learn the material, get a good nights sleep, turn up to the test in plenty of time and stay relaxed.

Of course there are other ways of staying calm which you may wish to look into, including aromatherepy, massage, acupuncture and hypnosis, to name but a few

Good Luck Gill!

I agree with the above, for me the main thing is to study hard, there are lots of sites where you can take mock tests.

Keep studying until you really know the subject.

Then be positive and trust you know it.

One the day the thing which helped me the most was when i started to worry closing my eyes and taking 10 really deep breaths.  It sounds corny, but it really works.

Good luck
